Yad Elie has initiated various projects. We have set up school vegetable gardens, and contributed kitchens to certain schools to enable them to produce their own meals. We have contributed to co-existence projects for Jewish and Arab Youth in the Jerusalem Forest and we have set up programs for education about nutrition and health.
Coexistence at Orchard in the Jerusalem ForestA group of deaf and hearing Jewish and Arab teenagers from two schools work together on preparing part of the Jerusalem forest for urban agriculture.
School KitchensYad Elie has built four completely equipped school kitchens where meals are prepared and children learn to cook on a tight budget.
School Gardens and Urban AgricultureYad Elie sets up school gardens where pupils grow their own vegetables and fruits. Children are encouraged to engage children in the process of sowing, reaping and harvesting.
