Who we are
Yad Elie is an Israeli nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food for Jewish and Arab children in West and East Jerusalem who are unable to bring their own food to school.
We work with schools to identify inadequate nutrition among their students, without regard for religion, color or gender. Yad Elie provides sufficient financial aid for a sandwich and fruit, or for a meal cooked in the school kitchen in a manner that maintains the recipients’ dignity.

What We Do
We work with many schools across the city, and aim to reach out to more.

Annually, we provide meals for about
350 students, 5 times per week.
In cooperation with the schools, we have built 5 fully-equipped school kitchens from scratch, with materials donated by local businesses and volunteers, averaging 20,000 NIS. We have provided funds for additional schools to purchase equipment for existing kitchens.

How Your Donations Can Help

Enhance our response to urgent and developing needs of the most vulnerable children in Jerusalem during challenging periods of war and recovery.
Recruit specialist instructors who tutor children about health, nutrition, hygiene,
and budgeting.
Extend our reach to more children who suffer from malnourishment and enhance the meals with more vegetables and fruits.
Establish school gardens where children learn and experience the process of growing their own vegetables.

How We Work - Step by Step
By keeping overhead costs to a minimum,
Yad Elie ensures that more than 90% of donated
money goes directly towards feeding Jerusalem
schoolchildren.

Our Partners
We partner with other organizations, including Nevet, Youth Futures, Jewish Helping Hands, Benevity, and CIS, as well as the Jerusalem Municipality , to effectively leverage other local players.
